Peruvian Wine

While Chile and Argentina remain far and away South America’s most lucrative markets, Peru continues to grow its wine industry at a steady pace, and some of its growers have been turning heads of late. Located on South America’s Pacific coast, but further north than Chile, Peru has a winegrowing region with a climate and topography similar to that of its southern neighbour, so similar varieties are grown.

Out of all red and white in our range of Peruvian wine, we particularly like the Intipalka Reserva Cabernet Petit Verdot, a spicy, peppery red with earthy notes. But what we like most is how it’s evidence that yet another region with a longstanding and magnificent culture of winegrowing is beginning to get its commercial act together so that the flavours of the region can at last grace European tables.
