Portuguese Wine
Portugal has had plenty of time to perfect its winemaking skills, with a history of viticulture dating back around two thousand years. Indeed, two of its winegrowing regions have been given UNESCO World Heritage status, preserving for eternity the unique skills and soil for the craft we all love.
If a list of extraordinary native grape varietals isn’t enough to beat a path to the country, let’s not forget that Portugal also gave the world port, which has earned a page in the history books for the Portuguese wine industry all on its own. But far from resting on its laurels, Portugal continues to innovate and advance in the winemaking world, ploughing all its accumulated knowledge into exploring new techniques and adding new varietals to its repertoire.
