Pinot Noir Wine
As French as it comes, Pinot Noir’s heartland is Burgundy, where it single-handedly produces some of the world’s most expensive wines. Other areas to watch out for are Oregon, certain parts of the Napa Valley in California, New Zealand, Chile and the southern limits of Australia. Let’s not forget its’ starring role in Champagne where it provides richness, structure and of course the delicate pink colour in rosé champagne. Taste-wise, Pinot Noir will almost certainly make you think of soft red fruits – raspberry, cherry and strawberry, but also expect savoury, earthy tones and herbaceous notes, depending on its age and origin.

Hattingley Valley Classic Cuvee 2013, Hampshire
1 review(s)Britain's best value bubbles? This English sparkling wine is seriously good value, especially since it's the vintage cuvée. Hampshire vies with Champagne here in very stately style. Outstanding fizz that, at this price, doesn't demand a special occasion to open it; how about this Friday? Read More.
