A dark skinned red grape that was bred in Germany, Regent is a hybrid grape that is particularly resistant to disease. It has only been a registered grape since 1989 and is mainly grown in Germany, Switzerland and England. It is known as one of the best hybrids and produces Regent wines with good colour and body. It’s a not a wine for significant aging but the soft tannins and taste of red fruits make a beautiful accompaniment to meat dishes and veggie chilli.
