Ugni Blanc Wine

Known as Ugni Blanc in France and as Trebbiano in Italy, this white grape is widely grown in the Cognac region and in South-West France in general and also in South America. It is the most widely planted white grape in France and produces fresh, fruity and aromatic wines made to be drunk young. It is an important grape in the production of both Cognac and Armagnac, with the fresh, neutral qualities of the grape lending themselves perfectly as a base for the brandies. Poached white fish with lemon juice, simple pastas and risottos taste best with dry Ugni Blanc wines.
