Verdejo

Verdejo is an aromatic white grape variety from Spain. It’s the grape of Rueda in northern Spain and makes crisp, dry wines, often blended with the Viura (Macabeo) or Sauvignon Blanc. It produces Verdejo wine with a nutty and herbaceous character that complements the citrussy freshness of Sauvignon Blanc and the floral freshness of the Viura. It also adds body and secondary characteristics beyond just fruit. Verdejo wines pair well with richer foods such as goat’s cheese and Vietnamese style pork.
