Philip Shaw Wines

Searching for the ideal site to plant a vineyard proved to be a 20 year journey for winemaker Philip Shaw but the final choice came by accident as he flew over the rolling hills of Orange in New South Wales in 1988. Further investigation revealed a wonderful balance of sunshine, soil, differing aspects and of course the high altitude at 900m above sea level that contributes to the unique freshness and concentration in the wines. The 47 hectares of vineyard are on the slopes of the now exticnt volcano Mt Canobolas, making it one of the highest vineyards in Australia.
