The Alba Martin Albariño comes from the subzone of Val do Salnés in DO Rías Baixas (which means between two estuaries, the Ría de Arosa and Ría de Pontevedra). Val do Salnés is not only the oldest subregion, it is also the coolest and wettest zone for Albariño, situated right on the Atlantic Coast. This has gorgeous aromas of ripe peach and hay leading to a rounded, juicy palate with flavours of lime zest held together by a slight brine-y tang and the merest hint of spritz.

Buy this if...you want a great seafood-friendly white.

A fabulously fish-friendly white from northern Spain, this Albariño seals the deal with beautiful aromas and flavours to match.

The Producer

Alma Atlántica means 'Atlantic Soul' in English and is inspired by wines made in proximity to the Atlantic Ocean with the aim of creating fresh and lively whites with lots of personality and boldness of flavour.

The Winemaker

Luciano Amoedo & Katia Álvarez are the two winemakers in charge of producing the Alma Atlantica wines. After pressing, the juice was settled and a cold fermentation took place in stainless steel tanks at 16ºC to 18ºC. Malolactic fermentation was allowed to take place.

The Region

The vines are grown on the sides of the valleys around the river Tamega, at between 400-450m above sea level. The climate here is temperate Mediterranean, influenced by the Atlantic ocean. Soils are a mixture of granite, slate, clay and sand and the vines are trained in an overhead "Emparrado" system.
