From a well respected Epernay Champagne Grower, the Premier Cru is sourced from the very best vineyards around Epernay. A blend of 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, this is a darker lemon yellow, with fine bubbles and an array of peach, honey and buttered brioche notes on the nose which follow through to a clean, citrussy palate with long, creamy finish. Enjoy as a white wine with seafood or canapes.

Buy this if.....you want a champagne to serve with food.

Premier Cru Champagne for £20? You're right, that is an offer hard to beat. Valendray Champagne offers a refined, rich style of sparkling wine, one that's oozing class and is sublime with seafood. We've imported this grower Champagne, especially to offer a fantastic alternative to the big names

The Winemaker

Precise vinification techniques are the order of the day, with stainles steel temperature cotrolled vats for the fermentation of the still wines, followed by the second fermentation in bottle in cool cellars.

The Region

Champagne is a wine region, not just a style of wine. It's about an hour's drive east of Paris, is France's most northerly wine region, and the combination of chalk soils, and an abundance of cool dark cellars to make and store Champagne make it the ideal place to make the world's most popular sparkling wines.

Yet 90% of grapes grown in Champagne come from almost 20,000 smallholders, owning a paltry 2ha on average. Selling their harvest to the big names or cooperatives is common, and a growing number now produce their own wines - like our Valendray Champagne.
