Made at the state of the art winery at Crestwood Cellars in Australia, this is a medium-bodied wine with a lovely rich ruby colour. Alongside berry and plum, you'll pick up a subtle spiciness and a warming richness of flavour. A fabulous result of the wine revival in Australia that has seen a real jump in quality in recent times. It's hard to find a better value Australian red than this.

Specially selected by Rude Wines this is an Australian Shiraz Cabernet blend that's a touch more refined than many. Medium-bodied with lovely dark bramble flavours and a smooth finish.

The Producer

Made at Warburn Estate's quality vineyards in Riverina in South Eastern Australia. The grapes come from vines grown in loam soils.

A leader in the Riverina wine region and Australian wine industry, Warburn Estate is owned by the Sergi family, whose winemaking heritage was brought to the area from Italy in 1952. Today, it stands tall as a fourth generation, pioneering wine family.

Warburn Estate’s achievements have been remarkable. The foundations that established Warburn Estate in the 1950’s remain the same today – hard work and strong family values.

The Winemaker

Winemaker Carmelo d'Aquino was recognised as Australian/New Zealand winemaker of the year in 2007. Carmelo grew up in Riverina, New South Wales, where he honed his exquisite wine making skills, which are beautifully endorsed by these mouth-watering wines.

The Region

The South-East Australia wine zone includes the states of South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania and New South Wales and produces wines from a variety of different vineyard sites across the smaller regions. While these can be inexpensive blended wines, some producers also use this as a way to create their own personal blends of regional styles.

Spicy Spaghetti Marinara

A classic pasta dish that combines seafood, tomatoes and garlic in a rich wine-infused sauce - you could go red or white with this dish but if you are sticking with red, keep the fruit flavours full and the tannins light. White wines will also need good ripe fruit and crisp acidity.

Chickpea & Broadbean Falafel

With complex layers of flavours, these delicious falafel make a great lunch, antipasto or supper dish and are equally versatile with wine matches - try anything from oaked whites to rich, ripe Mediterranean reds.

Duck Breast with Wild Mushrooms & Cream

The rich, fatty flavours of duck, combined with creamy mushrooms call for a soft, smooth red with fresh fruit flavours. Head to light or medium bodied reds - fruity Shiraz, Grenache or Pinotage pair well.
