Fill Your Boots February: Mixed

If you're the kind of wine drinker who never wants to run short. And, God forbid, have to pop down the local for a bottle when you do, and suffer a mediocre bottle. Then these are the cases to literally 'fill your boots with' this February.

Each gives you five wines (you can quickly scroll through the three bottles of each you'll be enjoying below), times three bottles of each.

At a stroke, you'll have a trio of three very different wines, all aimed at maximising your wine drinking enjoyment through the shortest, yet still wintery, month of the year.

Remember, you'll be getting 15 bottles - so that's an average bottle price of £6.27.

Refill your wine rack; The days are slowly getting longer, and it feels like Spring is around the corner.
The 'Fill Your Boots' 15-bottle cases give you the best possible price on a choice selection of red, white or mixed wines.

The Producer

The history of Cariñena has been closely related with wine for many centuries and the reputation of its wines are now being recognised around the world. In 1415 when the King of Spain heard that Fernando 1 of Aragon was planning a trip to Nice he asked Fernando to take with him some of the wines from Cariñena. In 2002 a new modern winery was built with state of the art facilities but keeping many of the good traditions of Spanish winemaking.

Bodegas Navajas is a family run winery situated in the village of Navarrete, in the heart of the Rioja region. The bodega was founded in 1918 but it wasn’t until 1983 when the Navajas family finally took complete control of the winery which has seen a dramatic improvement in quality ever since. The Bodega is run by Antonio Navajas and his wife, Rosa Maria Gandarias. Their son, Roberto, is responsible for production and quality control and their daughter, Mercedes, is in charge of exports.

The Producer

Founded by winemaking legend José Neiva Correia in 1998, DJF Vinhos is located in the Lisboa region which stretches north along the coast from the capital Lisbon. A simple philosophy with an ambitious aim: to transform the rich and diverse Portuguese varieties into top quality wines that are accessible to all. Quality and value for money are key, and the estate even buys in used oak barrels and employ two coopers to take them apart and strip them back to the new wood – as good as new for a fraction of the price! DJF is not short of fans, with more awards than any other Portuguese producer of the last 20 years, including red wine of the year at the IWC and twice Portuguese Winery of the Year in the New York Wine Competition since 2012.

Top 20 Best-Selling Red Wine

A well-balanced wine that was a great pleasure to drink with or without food. It went very well with grilled pork loin steaks. The label says "unpretentious", and, for once, the label is spot on. Christopher

It was all thanks to a pioneering Scotsman named Christopher Forrest Rigg (you would have to be an intrepid explorer with a name like that) that the town and farming community of Bonnievale came in to existence. Arriving in the arid Breede River Valley, due east of Cape Town, at the turn of the 20th Century, he set about developing the basis for an irrigation canal that would allow the entire valley to be farmed. As a parting shot he named the town and valley Bonnievale (Beautiful Valley) after his grandfathers_ home in Scotland. One of three wineries in the valley by the 1990_s, Bonnievale Cellar joined forces with its neighbours in 2006 to create a co-operative of more than 100 grape growers.

Roast Pheasant with Lemon & Rosemary

Contrast the delicate savoury flavours in this dish with a light to medium-bodied red with good fruit intensity. You don_t want to go for overly tannic styles which will overpower the meat so stick to soft, supple styles such as New World Merlots or lighter European reds. Full recipe

A real bargain

Lovely fresh and fruity wine from a grape I had not previously tried. A real bargain at the currently discounted price.

Rosado

The wine was an excellent accompaniment having a attractive blush colour to compliment the fish, a pleasant fruity aroma and a velvety smoothness in the mouth with a nice long after taste to savour.

Easy on the palate

This is a favourite in our house - a wonderful, easy to drink, every day wine delicious with or without food.
The winemakers description says it all really but this is a must have for the fridge as summer approaches to have an inexpensive but very acceptable wine to offer to friends who may drop in unexpectedly - thats if there is any left in your fridge by the time they appear.

Bright and tangy
