The word Klippen is a geographical term for an outcrop of rock, whilst Kop in Africaans is either a hillock or head. The fruit for Klippenkop Pinotage is sourced from 35 special grape growing families in the Robertson Valley, a region well known for producing quality wines.

The Winemaker
Grapes were harvested at night to preserve freshness and only when they reach optimum ripeness. Grapes are sourced from a variety of vineyard sites and fermentation took place in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks to create a smooth, fruity, unoaked style.

The Robertson region in South Africa is known as the valley of wine and roses and is located in the the Breede River Valley, 100 miles east of Cape Town. A popular grape growing area, it has a variety of soil types and microclimates perfect for the cultivation of grapes.
