A blend of two southern Italy white grapes 50% Inzolia and 50% Cataratto, this soft, smooth white is sourced from the low hills of the Marsala region in the west of Sicily. The wine spends a short period of ageing on the lees before bottling. It's vibrant and richly fruited, with lots of tropical fruit aromas and flavours, notes of melon and peach, with a refreshing citrusy finish. Enjoy on its own or with lighter Mediterranean dishes, fish and salads.

Put your feet up and relax with this easy-drinking Sicilian white with a laid-back, tropical vibe.

The Producer

The Portantica wines are made by Curatolo Arini, a historical Marsala estate that has branched out in to the production of dry table wines. The fifth generation of the Curatolo family now manages the estate, producing wines that exemplify the character of the Sicilian terroir.

The Winemaker

These wines are the result of the collaboration between the winemaker, Nino Reina, and consultant Alberto Antonini. Nino is an expert in the local varieties, he has been working for more than 30 years in different wineries around Sicily. The juice is macerated on the skins for 5-6 days and fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats. The wine is unoaked to maintain its freshness.

The Region

The vineyards are located in the hills in Western Sicily, close to the town of Marsala. Most of the vineyards are on a gentle slope, with tilled terra rossa soil, at an altitude ranging between 200-400 metres. The climate is warm Mediterranean with hot summers and temperate winters.
