What's not to like? A well-chilled bottle of white wine is invitation enough, but when it's a good Pinot Grigio, you know you're in for a treat.

Light (only 12%), summer orchard fruit, with a lick of fresh, citrus acidity to make your mouth water. No pretensions to greatness; 'PG' like this is life-affirming enjoyment at its best.

Pinot Grigio, what the Italian's call Pinot Gris, made the grape famous. This is white quaffing wine at its best: hints of apple, zesty fruitiness, and very enjoyable without food

The Producer

The Prospetti wines are produced in Italy's Veneto region, home to some of the country's best value, easy-drinking bottles.

Specially selected for the British market, they're aimed at exploiting the terrific value offered by this Italian wine region.

Winemaking

If there's one thing that springs to mind when thinking about Pinot Grigio, it's its sheer fruity drinkability. So winemaking's all about preserving the pristine aromatics and delicate fruit flavours. No oak, no lengthy ageing; just a cold glass of crisp Italian white wine.

The Region

The Veneto region, with its unique position between the Alpine foothills and the Adriatic sea produces a dizzying array of styles, from sparkling whites to sweet reds. The cooling sea and mountain breezes allow for the production of crisp, floral white wines, including Soave, Prosecco and the now famous Pinot Grigio delle Venezie.

Moules Marinière

A classic French dish that works well with most light white styles. Try (of course) French whites from the Loire or Bordeaux or Northern Italian styles such as Pinot Grigio or Soave.

Salad Niçoise

Try a light, fresh white with this classic salad - the tuna works well with crisp, easy-drinking Pinot Grigio.

Sole Meunière

The fresh notes of lemon and parsley marry well with citrusy notes in the wine so try a crisp, light white such as Pinot Grigio delle Venezie.
