A Rude Hello: Red Case (10-btl)

Awards and Accolades

A Rude Hello: Red Case (10-btl)

The case that'll make red wine lovers smile again. Determined to break the mould, we set out at Rude to push the boundaries when sourcing our reds. We're convinced you'll be able to tell the difference.

Sure, it's more work than simply picking what's 'acceptable', but it's well worth the effort, we think.

And, that's where the 'Rude Hello' cases come in. They've got 10 green bottles hanging on a wall, all so good, you'll enjoy them all. It's that simple.

No 'mark them up and bring them down to sucker them in' here. You'll have spotted those flyers that make out you're getting a great deal, only to find, once you taste them, they're ok for what you paid, but you wouldn't rush back for another.

Here we've nailed our quality beliefs to the mast. You'll be getting a 10-bottle case, complete with a pair of Riedel glasses, at a silly price. We think you'll like them. And, you'll come back based upon that, not a made-up price point. You're bigger than that, aren't you?

So what can you look forward to?

Our Rude Reserve Rouge puts colour on your table and with its fruit-driven, savoury character, is bound to please

Our Italian stallion, the Il Faggio Montepulciano really does stand out for sheer value and drinkability. No wonder Jamie serves it in his Italian restaurants

Smooth Malbec, plush Cabernet Sauvignon, crisp, cherry-like Corvina from Italian mountains... sip your way around the globe in style and discover red wines worth every penny (for a change)

From the full-bodied right through to the lighter, fruity styles, it's the red wine case that showcases how a rude experience can change how you choose your wines

All in all, you'll be sipping your way to wine nirvana over these 10 bottles, made all the more special by those Riedel glasses you're drinking from (worth £25). And, you're covered by our no-quibble guarantee, so sit back, take a sip and let the good times roll. You've just found your new favourite wine supplier, and we're only rude in the nicest possible way

Just £64.99, with free delivery to your doorstep. No more agonising decisions once you've filled the trolley with food. It's the smartest way to buy wine, and we're chuffed to have you on board. Cheers

New to Rude? There's no better way to explore our wines with the Rude Hello and Tip-Top selections. Genuinely exciting wines, at a once-only introductory price. No commitment to buy again, but we think you'll want to

£64.99 - Your discount will be applied at checkout, for new customers only.

Family-owned Domaine de Cassagnau is situated in the heart of the Languedoc region, due south of Carcasonne. The success of the estate has very much relied on the women of the family, with Berthe Abet in charge of the domaine for six decades and through two world wars. A doctor by profession, Jacques inherited the estate from his mother, Berthe's daughter Jacqueline, and continues the family business with wife Collette.

Il Faggio is made by Alana McGettigan at one of the region's best co-operatives in the northern part of the Abruzzi. The aim is to capture in the bottle the power and intensity of the grape, together with a lift and freshness which is seldom found in wines from this area. The name Il Faggio derives from the fabulous beech trees which proliferate in this area, especially in the Abruzzo national park.

A full-bodied red to behold, if ever I could be swayed it would be this Portuguese wine to shy from my trusted French wines, it's a great alternative and refreshing to find such structure and delight in a red. Gareth

Founded by winemaking legend José Neiva Correia in 1998, DFJ Vinhos is located in the Lisboa region which stretches north along the coast from the capital Lisbon. A simple philosophy with an ambitious aim: to transform the rich and diverse Portuguese varieties into top quality wines that are accessible to all. Quality and value for money are key, and the estate even buys in used oak barrels and employ two coopers to take them apart and strip them back to the new wood – as good as new for a fraction of the price. DJF is not short of fans, with more awards than any other Portuguese producer of the last 20 years, including red wine of the year at the IWC and twice Portuguese Winery of the Year in the New York Wine Competition 2012.

Beef Carpaccio with Cherry & Citrus Vinaigrette

Not always the easiest dish to pair with wine, the main element of this Carpaccio is the punchy vinaigrette which needs a wine with good acidity and fruit flavour. The meat denotes a need for a red wine, but plump for fresh, medium bodied styles with peppery or spicy notes to complement the rare beef. Try the Grand' Arte Shiraz, Lisboa for size. Full recipe

Vinas Alto Roble (meaning tall oak) call the beautiful town of Yerbas Buenas in the Maule Valley home, although vineyard sites are scattered the length and breadth of the Central Valley area in the Colchagua, Curico and Maule production areas. Timing proved right for founders Francisco Achurra and Patricio Larrain who bought a small Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard in the area in 1993. Growing recognition for Chilean wines led them to invest in neighbouring vineyards, with a gradual move towards the cooler, higher altitude sites.

I enjoyed my first case from Rude. The case was damaged in transit, but was replaced immediately. My favourite wine is :

Rude Reserve Rouge 2016, Languedoc

Lovely and smooth to drink.

"

Definitely a favorite

We have tried this wine a few times now as part of mixed cases, and it's become our go-to favourite. It has never disappointed, with food or on its own. Smooth, with just the right amount of fruitiness - neither overpowering nor too delicate - and every sip transports us from dreary weather to memories of summer and warm, delicious locations. We love it!!

Most enjoyable

Reading the blurb on the label, I steeled myself for a bruiser of a wine. How wrong could I be.
Very enjoyable wine with many subtleties on the palate. I'm glad I've got another bottle!

"

Lovely smooth easy drinking

An exceptionally easy drinking red - no need to leave it to breathe, although it helps even more. Blackberry notes with no heavy tannins. Obviously good with pasta, but also lovely to drink on its own. I normally err towards big reds, but was very happy with this and didn't miss the chunkiness at all.
