A fresh, modern style of Viognier made in the Picpoul de Pinet region in the Languedoc, made by consultant winemaker Matt Thomson who has honed the skill of reflecting the characteristics of the grape and area in the wine. This offers subtle aromas of almond and honey on the nose, rounded on the palate with peach and apricot flavours and balanced by a refreshing acidity on the finish.

Buy this if...you like very fruity, smooth whites.

Top 10 Best-Selling White Wine
Not having come across this grape before it was a fantastic surprise to experience such a crisp fruity summer wine. We have just bought a box for the summer... but I fear that we will be ordering more boxes before long... David

Tom Cannavan Reviews

Don't just take our word for it; here's what wine writer Tom Cannavan has to say:

"A very pure and really rather elegant expression of Viognier, the great grape of Condrieu in the northern Rhône, now fashionable world-wide. Here, the wine benefits from the sea breezes that cool its coastal vineyards, so the modest alcohol and crisp acidity are key. Juicy, fresh apricot and fragrant, almost floral nuances on the nose lead on to a medium-bodied and quite richly texture palate, but a tangy Seville orange acidity slices through the sweet fruit core. Sunshine in a glass"

The Region

The region benefits from a sunny warm climate which encourages ripe, fruity flavours in the wines, while the coastal breezes help retain freshness and aromatics. The grapes come from selected vineyards around the Etang de Thau and Picpoul area and the vines are planted on sandy Pliocene soils with harvesting achieved both by hand and machine

Wonderful

A great wine to relax with. Apricot and honey on the palate with just a hint of zing.
This is for me, a must buy.

Chilean Fish Stew

Pair rich fish stews with vibrant, zesty whites such as Sauvignon Blanc which have enough fruit flavour to balance out the punchy garlic, herbs and tomatoes. Or, try something different and go for a Viognier. It will definitely stand up to the challenge.
