Chateauneuf-du Pape

The sun-drenched Southern Rhône valley is home to the famed red wine appellation of Châteauneuf-du-Pape (also made in to a rather delicious white). This most prized location has a specific vineyard feature in the shape of large pudding stones or 'galets' to thank for its success, retaining the heat of the day and warming the vines at night. A total of thirteen grape varieties are permitted in the red wine, with Grenache by far the most planted variety.
