Rapel Valley

The Rapel Valley is one of the main wine regions in Chile’s Central Valley and consists of both the regions of Colchagua and Cachapoal. The most popular red grape varieties grown here in the warm, dry climate are Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Carmenere and Malbec as well as the white varieties Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The valley is flanked by the Andes and Coastal mountain ranges and through it flows the Rapel river which brings meltwater down from the mountains, vital for irrigating the vineyards.
