South West France

Often overlooked in favour of its illustrious neighbours Bordeaux to the north or the Languedoc to the east, the south-west corner of France is a wine lover’s paradise with a patchwork of eclectic appellations and superb value vins de pays, not to mention some of the heartiest French cuisine around. For big, structured reds, try Madiran and Cahors; or for fruity whites, the Côtes de Gascogne and Saint Mont appellations. And we mustn’t forget the unique Pacherenc-du-Vic-Bilh: lusciously sweet with a fresh touch.

Meet our very own contender for best value French white wine. You'll probably already know that Gascony, in South-West France, is high on the list for great wines, especially whites and rosés that won't cost the earth. That's why we headed there to put together our own 'house' white, and it's a real stunner.
