Stellenbosch

Dutch settlers in the late 17th Century soon saw the agricultural potential provided by the fertile land around Stellenbosch, and it wasn’t long before vineyards became the major activity in the area. Stellenbosch is now synonymous with the production of quality wine and is one of the most exciting and idyllic regions in which to grow grapes, with an enviable climate and geography to rival any premium region. With the ocean in clear view of some of the hillside vineyards, the grapes enjoy the soft touch of the sea breezes, producing wines which, although generous and richly fruited, have an understated elegance and freshness that make them uniquely South African.
