Rude Reserve Blanc at the IWC 2018

A little bit of this, a dash of that… you’d be forgiven that putting a white wine blend together was easy.

When we set out to produce our own-label white, the bar was set much higher.

It had to showcase our commitment to you, our customers, to always offer tip-top wines at better-than-high-street prices.

The first hurdle was to find a wine region that offers value and quality. Luckily, we knew some top wineries in France’s Gascony region that consistently come up with the goods.

But we didn’t just want to produce a Côtes de Gascogne like everyone other ...

How does ours differ? It’s all in the blend. We found parcels we really thought stood out, particularly Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. These two would form the foundations for the wine. Then carefully adding local varieties Colombard, Ugni Blanc, and Petit Manseng completed the picture.

So when the “world's most influential wine competition”, the International Wine Challenge 2018, awarded the Rude Reserve Blanc a coveted Bronze medal, it was welcome recognition of the team’s hard work.

The wine is no stranger to critical acclaim, with TV's Olly Smith declaring it "A thrilling white to please a crowd...", and Tom Cannavan praising its "dazzling fresh finish," calling the wine "a crisp all-rounder."

But being one of the few medal-winning white wines from Gascony is the highest accolade yet.

You’ll find it’s at a very special price for a few weeks to celebrate its award-winning achievement.
